Drained by Monique Singleton - sleep with the lights on kinda bok

The body had fallen in on itself like a smashed egg shell.
The eyes were hardly visible in the deep black sockets; the small part that was distinguishable was dark red with congealed blood. There was no iris, no colour, other than the bloody mass.
Her cheeks were gone, the lips pulled up tight over yellowish teeth in a permanent grimace of extreme terror and pain. Her skin looked more like ancient parchment; the hue a sickly grey mixed with vomit yellow and dark brown splotches that remarkably seemed to be growing. Small ripples under the thin husk gave the appearance of insects feeding on the last remnants of whatever flesh might still be there. You almost expected maggots or scarabs to emerge from the corner of the body’s parched lips. Or maybe even from the eye sockets. It strongly resembled a mummie from the Egyptian pyramids.
The arms were shrivelled in a rigid pose in front of her concave chest, indicative of the agony the woman suffered before and during her extended death throws. Her legs were pulled up in an almost fetel position, their form nothing more than thin match sticks.

Yesterday, Marg had been an exceptional beauty. Six foot, a figure to die for, long beautifully formed legs that seemed endless, flowing blond hair and peach soft skin; she was destined to dazzle the judges at the Miss World pageant in less than a week.

Now, there was nothing left.

This was a bad way to die.
